Human Peripheral Blood B Cells

$899.00

CAT: CPB0013

B cells function in the adaptive immune system by producing and secreting antibodies, or incorporating them into their plasma membranes for presentation to other immune cells.  Once the antibodies in a B cell membrane encounter a "non-self" epitope of an antigen, they become activated, proliferating and maturing into effector cells that secrete more antibodies (plasma cells) for further immune response, and effector cells that are ready for quick response to any future infections (memory B cells).  Recent research has revealed that B cells also secrete cytokines which affect pro- and anti-inflammatory immunomodulation.  B cells (CD19+) are useful for research investigating them as cancer immunotherapy and on the treatment of autoimmune diseases using B cell depletion strategies.

Description

As a one-stop biomodeling service provider, TME offers B-cell-based in vitro model systems:

  1. To reproduce the sequential B cell differentiation into plasma cells occurring in vivo
  2. To enhance B-cell survival, proliferation, differentiation, and antibody production
  3. To assess B cell activation
  4. To test antibody production

B cells were isolated using negative immunomagnetic separation techniques and Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved protocols and consent forms were used to acquire cells.
